Sealed valves can be checked for breaks
layer of paint, applied on the bevel seat and valve head,
infiltration of kerosene, poured into the combustion chamber,
as well as with a pneumatic device low
pressure, as shown schematically in Fig. 39.
After a comprehensive installation and assembly of valves in the head
check the tightness of the cylinder in the following order:
- Set the air bell 4 devices, so that
its rubber seal covered one of the combustion chambers
- Press the bell 4 for a snug fit
a rubber gasket (Fig.40) to the plane of the head
- Apply compressed air (from the compressor, cylinder or
air network) through a hose into the cylinder until the device
pressure of 500 mm. waters. of Art. on a scale of manometric
- Observe the position of the water level in the tube (see
in Fig. 39). If he is being held at the division not less than 10 seconds,
Planting in the saddle valve is tight.
Thus check the tightness of the other valves
cylinders. The rapid drop in water level indicates the
leakage of one or both valves of the cylinder.
In this case, remove the valves, re-wipe the re-
check their integrity.
