Check flow (intoxication) oil
One of the main indications for the need to replace
piston rings, and in the future and the need for major repairs
the engine is operating oil flow
(No leakage of oil).
Throughout the life of the engine, starting from the break-in
and the first replacement of piston rings, oil consumption is not
a constant. Gradually decreasing over the period running, flow
Oil is usually stabilized after driving 2000-3000 miles, and sometimes
5000-8000 km and less than with 80 g per 100 kilometers.
By the time the vehicle's mileage is approaching 60000-80000 km,
Oil consumption is gradually increasing.
The engine requires repair, if oil consumption per 100 km over
200 In this case, as a rule, replacement of worn-out
compression and oil scraper piston rings new,
mainly standard size.
Operating oil consumption (carbon monoxide), g per 100 kilometers, is determined
by the formula:
q = 100 * (Q1-Q2 + Q3) / Z
where Q1 - the amount of oil poured into the crankcase;
Q2 - the amount of oil drained from the crankcase;
Q3 - the amount of oil (fresh), dolitogo between its two shifts;
z - mileage between oil change miles.
As follows from the formula, the oil consumption is determined by weight for the time
appropriate mileage between oil drain (4,000 km). In
avoid errors in measurement, the temperature of the oil before
release it from the housing should not be below 60 * C. In order to ensure
complete drainage from the crankcase, you need to wait at least
10 min.
If necessary to determine the oil consumption over a shorter period
time limit can be run at 200 km (at least) under the regime of
uniform motion at a speed of 50-60 km \ hour.
